Phyllis A. Woodworth

Phyllis is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Jerry Woodworth. She is survived by sons, Timothy and Jeff Woodworth (Charlotte); daughter, Joy Woodworth; grandchildren, Melanie (Matt) Mason, Kassie (Zack) Woodworth, Matthew McBrearty, Abbigail Woodworth, Keith McBrearty, Jr., and Maxwell Woodworth; and great-grandchildren, Ellie and Samuel.

Born in East Chicago, Phyllis made the region her home from birth. She fed untold number of Munster High School Mustangs lunch for 38 years before retiring in 2007.

Phyllis was a member of Lake Hills Baptist Church in St. John, IN. Next to her children, her faith sustained her throughout her life. She was eternally grateful for all her Sisters in Christ and all the wonderful memories and good works they shared with each other.

When Phyllis wasn’t baking treats, sewing up a storm, or volunteering, she was gardening in her yard, checking on family and friends, and always wishing the best for everyone. Her heart was large and she will be dearly missed by all.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
