

Ronald F. Nystrom, age 72, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2012. He was born in South Chicago on August 4, 1940. He is survived by his loving wife, Denise, whom he married 50 years ago on January 20, 1962; his four children: Ronald Nystrom and Mary Blount of Demotte, Lynden (Crystine) Nystrom of Morocco, Allan Nystrom of Dyer and Karenza (Paul) Lambert of Lake Station; he is also survived by eight loving grandchildren; one great granddaughter; parents: Ernest and Mildred Chapman; brother, Dennis Nystrom of Chicago; and sister-in-law, Linda Nystrom of Hammond. Preceded in death by his parents: Elmer Nystrom and Lucille Chapman; sister, Ella Birk; and brothers: August, Bill and Roy Nystrom. Ronald worked at Inland Steel 5-Pickle, 3 Cold Strip East for 36 years until he retired. He was the Union Representative for Local 1010. He proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany by the Iron Curtain. Ron was dedicated to his work and his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN with Pastor Bassam Abdallah officiating. Interment, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
