Shirley Marie Powers (Richards), 68, of Dyer, IN has passed away after a long battle with diabetes, Parkinson’s disease and seizures. Born in Hammond, Shirley was preceded in death by parents, Wilfred and Bonnie (Goode).
Loving wife to Benton; mother to Christopher and Stephanie; grandmother to Parker; sister to Marvin; and Aunt to many, Shirley was loved by all. Shirley was a three-time Past Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her family, animals and lighthouses. She accomplished anything she set her mind to. She will be missed beyond words.
A Public Visitation for Shirley will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Burial will occur Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
