Steven John Horgash

Steven John Horgash, age 89, of Hammond, IN, passed peacefully on December 15, 2017 with his loving family at his side. Steve was born January 28, 1928 in Kelayres, PA to the late John and Anne Horgash. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Josephine Horgash; siblings Mary, Johnny, Joseph, Anne, and Elizabeth. Left to cherish his memory are his children, David M. (Pamela) Horgash, Barbara (Charles) King, and Stephen (Deborah) Horgash; grandchildren, David M. (Michele) Horgash Jr., Christina (Christopher) Ngo, Robert Horgash, Stephen Horgash, Michael (Julia) Horgash; great grandchildren, Kaitlin and David Horgash, Madelyn and Emelia Ngo; siblings, Chas (Dorie) Horgash, Paul (late Violet) Horgash, Bernard (Joanie) Horgash; and many friends, especially at Virginia Place. Mr. Horgash honorably served in the United States Army during World War II. Steve retired from Jones and Laughlin Steel Mill in Hammond after many years of service. He and his wife were past faithful members of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and loyal Cubs fan. His family wishes to thank Virginia Place of Merrillville for their kind and compassionate care. Steve was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle and will be missed by all who love him. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 11:00 am until the time of his funeral at 2:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Crown Point, IN). Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
