Wilamae Vaux Sako, 89, died Sunday, November 9, 2014. Ms. Sako was born in Gary, IN on June 6, 1925, to Hubert and Dorothea Norton Vaux. She was an LPN at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Hammond, IN. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Lillian) Sako, of Green Valley, AR, Gayle (late Logan) Koontz, of Nicholasville, KY, Jim (Terri) Sako of Wolcottville, IN, Lynne Sako, of Versailles, KY, John Sako, of Denver, CO Beth (Tim) Trtan, of Crown Point, IN ; her brother, Hubert Vaux, of Cape Coral, FL; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband Julius Sako, her companion, Chester Hanas, sister Carla Thompson, brother Norton Vaux.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375) with Father Theodore Mens officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday, November 13, 2014. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
