Leon is the loving husband for 64 years to Bobbie Edgington; cherished father to Diane Edgington, Ron (Selena) Edgington and Gary (Karen) Edgington; proud grandfather to Mark (Michelle) Edgington, Brian (Jamie) Edgington, Kevin Edgington, David (Aly) Edgington and Tyler Smith; great-grandfather to Emersyn, Maddie, Greyson, Cooper and Mia; fond brother to the late Dee Edgington and the late Chuck Edgington; uncle to many.
Leon retired after 37 faithful years of service as a supervisor at Inland Steel. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Leon was a loyal Cubs fan and Notre Dame football "Fighting Irish" enthusiast. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.
Visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given toward the Parkinson's Foundation (www.parkinson.org).
