He is survived by his children, Nancy Belcourt, Marlene Willhoite, William B. Willhoite, Jr., Deborah (Brian) Zurek, Tom (Wendy) Willhoite, and Sherry (Larry) Scott. He was a beloved grandfather to 13, and great-grandfather to over 30.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marion Willhoite; daughter, Linda Jackson; and grandson, Michael Kuehle.
William loved camping with his family, boxing and weight lifting. He was a proud U.S. Steel worker for 40 years. He retired, breaking the U.S. Steel record for tonnage of steel rolled in eight hours.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Friends are invited to visit with the family at a luncheon after the service. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
