Anita (A.J.) Siebert, beloved wife, mother and grandmother was born on October 5, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA. She passed away peacefully April 9, 2013 in North Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Siebert, father, Robert Earl Blaney, and her mother, Elizabeth Bell Blaney. She is survived by three devoted sons: David (wife Sheralyn), Jeff (wife Marie), Randy (wife Joie), and grandchildren Margaret, Marianne, Danielle, Ryan, and Megan. She lovingly welcomed children, grandchildren and great-grand children from our blended family. Her family was clearly her greatest joy.
She grew up as an only child in the beautiful, hilly countryside among apple and cherry tree orchards that bloomed every Spring, followed by the spectacular changing of the leaves in Fall. Her father was a mechanical engineer at Westinghouse, and designed and created many electro-mechanical devices used in WWII. Anita’s mother was paralyzed when Anita was 12 years old. She and her father, despite many challenges, lovingly provided the necessary care, and willingly made the many sacrifices required to ensure her mother received the best of care in her home. They always put her needs ahead of their own. Anita graduated from Buffalo State University earning a Bachelors Degree in Home Economics. She was an accomplished homemaker in every sense of the word.
She married Harvey Siebert on August 9, 1952, and they celebrated over 56 years of marriage together. When A.J. and Harvey started their lives together they immediately began to document their love and devotion to family and friends in journals, countless photographs, and hand-written notes that will always be treasured.
All who knew and loved Anita use these same words: She was a beautiful, kind, gracious, gentle, loving, sensitive, sincere, thoughtful, intelligent lady who was selflessly devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and many friends.
A Celebration of Anita’s life will be held, Friday April 12th, at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 8011 Frankford Rd. Dallas, TX 75252. (Use this address for your GPS or map app)
