BRANDON WADE MILLER, 41, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 2nd. He was the son of Charlie Daniel Miller and Carolyn Ebarb Govea, born in Dallas on May 10, 1972. Brandon attended Skyline High School in Dallas and worked briefly at Colter’s BBQ before moving to Fort Worth.
While attending a party in January of 1991, Brandon met Stephanie Ann Craft. The attraction was instantaneous … and mutual. Stephanie fell in love with Brandon’s dimples and he fell in love with her smile. They began dating in April 1991 and Brandon – after spending time with extended family in Marshall, Texas and getting “back to nature” (his greatest passion) - proposed unceremoniously, across a restaurant table, late in 1992. They were married at a small ceremony, in Dallas, in July of 1993. Brandon moved to Carrollton and remained a resident there for the last 23 years of his life.
In June of 2001, Brandon and Stephanie welcomed the first of two children, a son, Dakota James Miller, to their family. Though they were told they could not have more children, Brandon was genuinely excited to tell family, in early 2009, that he and Stephanie would be welcoming another child. Braeden Lee Miller, was born in October of 2009.
Though he worked for several moving companies and drove trucks and tow-trucks for a living, Brandon loved spending time with his family … especially his boys … and found true joy being outdoors, enjoying the “simpler things” that life had to offer. In fact, simple defined Brandon well …..
Several members of his extended family called Brandon a ‘gentle giant.’ He certainly had a presence, was loved, admired and will be missed.
Brandon was preceded in death by his Grandfathers and Grandmothers, his sister, Sheila Marie Miller, a close and valued friend, Roderick Lee Smith, his father in-law, Thomas Craft, his mother in-law, Carol Craft and several others he befriended, knew or helped in some way.
Brandon is survived by his father, Charlie Daniel Miller, of Dallas, his mother Carolyn Ebarb Govea and his stepfather and friend, Michael Anthony Govea, of Fort Worth, his wife, Stephanie Ann Miller, and two sons, Dakota James Miller and Braeden Lee Miller, of Carrollton along with several Uncles, Aunts, cousins, brothers in-law, sisters in-law and friends.
Gone but never forgotten …..
Visitation will take place on Sunday evening, April 6th from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 7, 2014, also at the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home Chapel. A brief reception will follow, in the Funeral Home events room, followed by graveside services at the Grove Hill Memorial Park of Dallas (at Interstate 30 and Samuell Boulevard).
