Daniel Covarrubias, a true and faithful servant of the Lord, went to heaven to share eternity with his Savior on March 29, 2011. He battled a courageous fight with cancer. Although his body lost the fight his spirit will live on eternally with us. Daniel lived to serve the Lord. He answered his calling and became an ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church. He served the parish of St. Frances of Assisi in Frisco. He also served as the spiritual director for the St. Vincent de Paul Frisco Conference. Daniel worked for Raytheon as a Senior Process Engineer. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and felt privileged to be a part of an amazing team. He claimed his best accomplishment was his family. He always said that his girls and grandbabies were the best medicine a man could ask for. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cindy Covarrubias. He is also survived by his daughters, Theresa Taylor and Monica Cole, and grandchildren, Isabel Danielle Taylor and Christian Michael Cole. Daniel had a great love for Christ which was demonstrated in his words and through his actions. He will be greatly missed by many but his legacy will live on through all the acts of kindness that he will continue to inspire. A vigil will be held April 3rd at 7:30pm at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano. The funeral will be held April 4th at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Frisco Conference or the St. Francis of Assisi Frisco Building Fund in memory of Daniel.
