Mr. Kotwal was my daughter's math teacher in high school. She was one of his favorites. We loved him and he loved us. I am so sad to know he is not here, but, he is with God.

Dear Jenny and Michael,

My Mom, Kumud, was a younger sibling to Dilip’s Dad and I am Nina and Krish’s sister.
Dilip left for US when I was in elementary school. I met Dilip in New York at our cousin Vidya’s probably 30 years ago, until then my only memories of Dilip was his achievements that were shared by his father Chandrakant or as we called him Chandumama.

My husband Swarup and I live in Winter Haven, Florida and our son Sahil (24) is in Fort Benning, serving as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army.

Our deepest condolences to you and your family.

Michael & Jenny,
It was early 1967 and Dilip had decided to visit his Aunt Padma, my Mom. We lived on the 17th floor of an apartment building in Queens, NYC. I was almost 16. Dilip said he had a surprise for me and we went downstairs. There he had parked a brand new yellow Ford Mustang that he had just purchased. We went for a drive on the Long Island Expressway. On the way back the roads had gotten slick and we skidded as we were exiting off the ramp. There was minor damage to the undercarriage, but we were all ok. After getting it repaired the next day, he left for Norman OK. Sadly that was the last time I saw him.
I am now retired and living in Sarasota, FL with my wife Joanne. We have two girls. Tracy (36) lives in NYC, and Laura (32) lives in Boston.

Dear Jenny and Michael,

I am one of Dilip’s cousins living in Massachusetts with my husband, Prashant and my daughters.

My mother,  Kumud and  Dilip’s father were siblings. I am also Krish’s sister (He  has left a message for you).

I remember meeting Dilip once when he had visited India after his graduation in the US. We knew all about Dilip and his accomplishments from his Father and remember being in awe of his genius.

Dear Michael and Jenny Ruth,
I am Dilip's first cousin - one of many as you may remember. I live in New York with my husband Shashi. Our home in NYC was Dilip's first stop in the USA in 1967, before going to Oklahoma. And he used to stop by -not too often , whenever he visited NYC on business. Although, his last visit might have been almost 30 years ago. 
We wish we had kept in touch.  And of course, wish we had met both of you. 
Will always remember Dilip fondly.

This is Krish from Mumbai, India. Dilip and I happen to be first cousins ( his father Chandrakant and my mother Kumud Dholakia ( nee Kotwal) were siblings. Though I’ve never seen Dilip ever we always heard about him and his achievements through his father in Bombay. Sorry to hear of his demise. May his soul rest in peace.
