Donald John Kramer

Donald J. Kramer, known as Don, was born June 8, 1950 in Carroll County, Iowa. His parents were John and Jeanette Kramer. Don was the 4th of 8 children: David, Joseph (stillborn), Sharon, Don, Tom, Betty, Gary (deceased), Richard (deceased).

He graduated from Glidden Ralston High School in Glidden, Iowa in 1968.

He married Janice Tannehill Kramer and they had 4 children, Joyce, Tonya, Matthew and Stephen. Janice passed in 1976. He married Michelle Bushman Kramer and had 3 more children Jason Kramer, Jackie Kramer and Janelle Kramer Barber. While living in Iowa Don worked at various jobs including Bowie Manufacturing in Lake City, Iowa, Burger King in Carrol Co.,Iowa, on a farm in Lake City and Toynes Fire Apparatus in Breda, Iowa. In 2001 Don moved to Texas and began work at Walmart in Bedford, TX where he worked for 18 years. He worked in many different capacities at Walmart, including Cashier and Customer Service Manager. He met Kim his wife as a coworker at Walmart and they married August 24, 2007.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Jeanette Kramer, his 3 brothers, Joseph, Gary and Richard, his maternal grandmother Lucille Schrader, his uncle Earl Kramer, his brother-in-law Larry Wierdrien.

He is survived by his wife Kim Kramer, his 7 children, Joyce, Tonya, Matthew, Stephen, Jason, Jackie and Janelle, brother Kevin Kramer, 7 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He passed away November 9, 2019 at Arlington Memorial Hospital. He was a beloved husband and father and will be greatly missed by his wife and children.

Don's Catholic faith was very important to him and he was an active congregant of The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Davis St. in Arlington, Texas. A funeral Mass will be held there for Don Kramer on Thursday Nov 14 at 10 AM.
