Don Rastberger passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. He is survived by his son Keith (Betsy), daughter Sherry Reinwald (Doug), grandchildren Julie Thompson (Timothy), Jake Rastberger (Marjan), and Bradley Reinwald (Carleigh), great-grandchildren Christian Reinwald, Braleigh Reinwald, and Kian Rastberger.
Don was born 90 years ago on August 20 to Harvey and Edna Rastberger in St. Louis Missouri. He met the love of his life, Joan Travis and was married for 65 years. Don joined the Naval Reserve ‘Weekend Warriors’ at Lambert Field in St. Louis and served until the base was decommissioned in 1958.
Cars were always a hobby for Don. He especially enjoyed restoring, and rebuilding his 1960 Corvette, which his father-in-law Travis called “that bucket of bolts”.
After working at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis for 16 years, Don became a Technical Writer for ITT Data Services located in Clayton Missouri. In 1973 Don started at Nationwide Financial Services Corporation also located in Clayton. While there, he was responsible for training potential managers that took about 3 years to complete. Don’s career then found him as Assistant Vice President at Wells Fargo Credit Corporation located in Scottsdale Arizona where he and Joan lived for over 25 years. Don and Joan found themselves working and living in Tucson Arizona, Overland Park Kansas, Plano Texas, and finally retiring in Frisco Texas.
Don loved the Lord, his family, friends, and an occasional golf game. He and Joan also loved Arizona and the mountains, but found being in Texas near their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was where he and Joan wanted to be most of all.
A celebration of life will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 4000 Midway Road in Carrollton Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM
