Passed away on September 16, 2014. She was born on April 17, 1927 to Thaxton and Rena Carawan in Norfolk, Virginia. Edna was a long time resident of Richmond and Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was devoted to her family. Edna is survived by her daughter, Maureen Gardner and husband John; brother, Reid H Carawan; sister in law; Ruth Carawan; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded by her parents; brothers, Jack Carawan, and James Carawan; sisters, Doris Davis, and Catherine Carawan; and sister in law, Mildred Carawan. Visitation for Edna will be on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home 601 North Witchaduck Road, Virginia Beach Virginia from 10-11 am with a grave side service following in Rosewood Memorial Park at 2:00 PM.
