Eleanor Lillian Petencin Plinck (101), daughter of Alexander and Marie Petencin, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She was the middle of three children, sister to Louise and Evelyn. Her positive attitude, loving character, infectious smile, distinctive voice, energetic presence, and friendly demeanor touched every person whom she met. She would always introduce herself as "Ellie".
Eleanor graduated from Forman High School, then Wright Jr. College. She loved to sing, shop, play cards and bingo, was a prolific member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed almost any social activity. Her favorite place to be was around friends and family. Her musical interests included Big Band and Country music, and also enjoyed Soap Operas such as Edge of Night. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Community in Plano, Texas. She always enjoyed German food, beer, and loved to cook.
She married Albert Plinck on September 13, 1941, only a few years after meeting at Riverview Amusement Park - a favorite of theirs through their courtship. They remained happily married for 55 years. Ellie's positive spirit left a mark on those around her; "Never say goodbye...just, until we meet again." and "Always treat others the way you want to be treated" were two phrases that embodied that spirit.
She is preceded in death by parents Alexander and Marie Petencin, siblings Louise (Joe) and Evelyn (John), and husband Albert. She is survived by daughter Cheryl (Gary) of Laguna Niguel, California and son Richard (Frances) Plinck of Allen, Texas, grandchildren: Noel, Melissa (Adam), Eric, Kyle (Vanessa), Brian (Brenda), and Alexander, and great-grandchildren: Parker, Madison, Emerson, and Ryan.
