Gary Frank Grant

Gary Frank Grant, age, 80, of Plano passed away July 7th, 2012. Gary is preceded in death by his wife Carol. Left to cherish Gary's memory are two sons; Tim Grant and his wife Cindy of Montgomery, TX and Lincoln Grant, one daughter Cari Haynes and her husband Scott of San Diego, CA. Also surviving are 4 grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.

Gary attended Wayne State University and received a BA in accounting. He met and married his beloved wife Carol of 55 years in their hometown of Detroit MI. His extensive service to his country included 26 years in the U S Navy serving in the Korean War. He extended his reserve service during the Viet Nam war.

In1972 Gary moved to Texas where he and Carol raised their family in Plano. He spent 7 years as a business consultant in Saudi Arabia working with the youth and welfare division of the Saudi government building sports complexes. After retiring at age 63, he worked an additional 13 years as a flight attendant/trainer for American Airlines.

During his business career, Gary owned and operated JA Runge company in Michigan from 1960 until 1971. There he won the "Outstanding Man of the Year" award in 1964 sponsored by the Jr. State of Commerce. He was a devout Christian who loved golf, the beach and traveling with friends.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday July 11th at 10am in the Ted Dickey West Chapel. Reverend James Otte will officiate. Military honors will follow at the DFW National Cemetery.
