

George Thomas “Tom” Crowder was born November 3, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, and passed away on March 4, 2016, in Plano, Texas. He was a 1957 graduate of Paschal High School, where he lettered in baseball and football and was an All-District Center. He graduated in 1962 from Texas Tech University with a BS in Civil Engineering. He was a proud member of the Epsilon Phi chapter of Kappa Sigma, a member of the Saddle Tramps and played on the Tech baseball team. After graduation, he worked as a Structural Engineer at LTV, General Dynamics and Grumman. For over 40 years, he was a custom home builder and developer in the DFW area. He was one of the owners and developers of the Wimbledon Racquet Club and a member of the National Association of Home Builders. He was a member of the Arlington West Rotary Cub. He was married 53 years to his college sweetheart Celeste and enjoyed everything outdoors, including fishing, hunting and sports. Tom is preceded in death by his mother Lois Overman Crowder and his father Thornton Pearson Crowder. He is survived by his wife Celeste Ullrich Crowder; daughters, Lieschen Bibby and husband, Tom, Leslie Gardiner and husband, Allen; son, Craig Crowder and wife, Mira; grandchildren Ashleigh, Lindsay, Hagen, Haylie, Karina and Anton; sister Cissy Gilbert and husband, Jimmy, and many well-loved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
