George D. Saarty

George D. Saarty 84, of Plano, TX, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, TX; He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew and loved him. Those who knew him will forever miss him.

George was born on March 13, 1930 in Cario Egypt and immigrated to the United States in 1958. He settled in Dallas and became an enthusiastic Texan. He and Geneva Weaver were married in 1959 and George opened his business, Saarty Coiffures shortly thereafter. He retired from that business in 1996.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva of Plano, Texas. Brother, David Saarty of Toronto, Canada, sisters, Soad Stambouley of Cairo, Egypt, Adele Sayad of Sidney, British Columbia, Canada, Laila Fahmy of Toronto, Canada, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Terry George, father. Aziz Daoud Saarty, mother, Zahoura Issa Saarty, brother M. A. Daoud Saarty, sisters, Naomi Saarty, Mary Zadoyan, and Georgette Stambouley.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 7 at 2 o’clock at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home at 7990 George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy. Dallas, TX 75225.

There will be visitation at the Funeral Home on Sunday, July 6 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
