

Georgia Karen Kirby-Lutts, loving wife and mother, departed this life on May 16, 2015. She was born on September 12, 1952 to Randall and Nellie Kirby in Florence, SC. Georgia is survived by her husband, Guy Lutts of Little Elm, TX; daughter, Desiree (Thomas) Jinks and husband Brian of Grand Prairie, TX; mother, Nellie Kirby of Timmonsville, SC; sister, Rhonda Lee and husband Rudy of Timmonsville, SC; grandson, Colton Thomas Jinks, who arrived on May 18, 2015; and feline companion, Ash. Georgia loved her church family and the fellowship there. She was a member of the ladies bible study and prayer group. She often participates in the Dare-to-Care ministry, writing cards to those who were ill or in need of encouragement and prayers. Georgia also visited those ill or having surgery in the hospital. Georgia loved to travel; she and husband recently made a 10,000 mile trip across the southern United States over two months. She was a wonderful cook who was always looking for new recipes and cook books. She was known for her kitchen support and potluck dishes at church gatherings. She also loved music, reading, and spending time with her beloved cat, Ash.
Visitation for Georgia will be on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, from 6-8 p.m. Services will be on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Carrollton Church of the Nazarene, 1529 Hebron Parkway, Carrollton, TX 75010 at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in Timmonsville, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Carrollton Church of the Nazarene, 1529 Hebron Parkway, Carrollton, TX 75010 for the church organ. The memorial donations will be used for the repair and/or purchase of a church organ because of Georgia’s love of organ worship music.
