

Gerald J. “Jerry” Ramsier was born on January 9, 1932 in Newport, RI, the son of the late Jesse Coogan and Gladys (Goldie) Ramsier. He died Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Baylor Regional Hospital in Plano, TX
.
He was the loving husband of Margaret Ann “Peggy” (Mullaney) Ramsier for 57 years!, who survives him along with his son, Patrick J. Ramsier and his daughter in law Joy and his four adored granddaughters; Alexa, Jordan, Casie and Brooke and his sister Veronica “Roni” Garman.
Gerald graduated from Rogers High School in Newport. He did course work at the Rhode Island School of Design and Northeastern University before embarking on a life-long career of designing and building things. Before beginning his career he served in the Air Force as an MP stationed at Otis AFB in Massachusetts. His design career began at Robinson Green and Beretta Architects in Providence RI and he continued designing at a number of firms throughout his career. He concluded his career in Narragansett RI as the town engineer with a project that he loved, the renovation of the famed Narragansett “Towers”.
Jerry always considered Rhode Island home but he and Peg also found home to be in Florida and Texas. They settled in Texas a few years ago to enjoy and be close to their family. He will be missed an awful lot but he will be loved an awful lot more forever.
His life will be celebrated in a memorial mass on Saturday September 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 5100 W. Plano Parkway, Plano TX 75093 972-380-2100. His inurnment will follow the mass with a ceremony at the Prince of Peace columbarium.The family invites everyone to a luncheon reception immediately after the inurnment in St. James Hall at the church and suggests that memorials may be made to Plano Family YMCA, 3300 McDermott, Plano, TX 75025 214-705-9459.
