He is survived by his mother, Maureen Ellis and three three siblings, Emily (Erik), Andrew (Catherine), and Kylie and three nephews, Ethan, Everett and Christopher, as well as his grandmother, Margaret (Bob) and uncles Tim (Stephanie) and Mark (Susie).
He is preceded in death by his father, Steve and grandfather Jim (Joyce).
James was born in Dallas, TX where he lived most of his life, until this past year when he moved to Palm Beach, FL. James attended Shelton School and Plano West, where he played football.
An animal lover from the time he was a kid, “Jamie” spent his days catching turtles, snakes and fish in the creeks and ponds near his house. One day his mother, Maureen came home to find a family of ducks in the bathtub, “rescued” by Jamie. With a mischievous smile on his face, it was always a surprise to see what he was up to next.
Along with his brother and dad, James loved to scuba dive. While living in Florida, James spent time with his friends fishing and diving. He especially loved to spear fish and captured his underwater adventures on camera whenever possible.
James loved his friends. After struggling with his own sobriety, he was instrumental this past year in many of his friend’s lives, often acting as a support to others who also struggled.
He will be so missed by his family and friends.
