Celebrating the amazing, fun, loving life of Kathy Ann Furlong. She passed away in her own bed on April 3, 2012 at 12:12 pm with her family at her side. Born on August 12, 1961 in Chicago Il to Bill and Helen Larmon, she shared her early years with her brothers Daniel, now in Point St. Lucie, Florida and Richard, now in Scottsdale AZ. She graduated from Downers Grove South High School where she met the love of her life, John, at 14 years of age. Together, they spent the next 36 years collecting friends and leaving a wake of laughter and memories from Illinois to Texas to Cabo. Kathy really “lived” life, cherishing the everyday moments with her loving husband, her beautiful children, Kristine (23) and Michael (20), her parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and the hundreds of co-workers at Xerox and GE Capital Services where she worked for 28 years. She was happiest at the lake with her family and friends but she made every moment count and she made every person she came in contact with feel at home. And for the record, she kicked cancer’s ass for 14 years! In the process, she inspired hundreds if not thousands of people how to embrace life’s challenges with a combination of fierce, unwavering determination, the grace of an angel, the healing power of laughter, and an attitude where you never doubted she’d get better, if you even noticed she was sick in the first place. Kathy is, was and will always be a gift from God who knew she was the strongest among us. He is blessing her now with all the love and riches of Heaven. A Memorial Service will be held at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 8011 Frankford Rd., Dallas TX 75252, Friday, April 6th,visitation from 3-5 with services at 5 pm. Following the service, please join her family for a celebration of dedication at 6 pm, at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco off Legacy and 121. Please feel free to upload your special pictures of Kathy and comments.
