

Kenneth was born to Ernie and Alice Strawser on December 2, 1915, at their home in West Manchester, Ohio. He grew up and completed the 10th grade of school. Then he worked with his Father at his Shoe and Leather Repair Shop, to learn his father’s trade. On September 19, 1941 he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served during WWII as a General Carpenter, stationed in North Alaska doing surveillance work near the Russian Border. He was Honorable Discharged on July 23, 1945. During this time he married, Marion Boston, on January 15, 1945. After his discharge he gained employment with Railway Express Agency, as
A Dock man, working his way to Dock Foreman before retiring. During this time he also completed a trade course for TV and Radio Repair. In early 1950’s he retained custody of his four minor daughters: Carol Ann and Nancy Lee (twins) Kathleen Sue, Rebecca Jane He devoted his life to his four daughters, working two jobs. The railroad and TV Repair at his home shop.
He retired in 1970 and moved to Germantown, Ohio to live and care for his mother. Then in the mid 1970’s, they both moved to Ft. Myers, Fl. There he cared for his Mother and also owned a small Lawn Service. He lived in an Adult Community joining social groups and made several long term friendships and enjoyed his retirement. In 2003 due to declining health he moved to The Colony, TX, with his daughter and son in law, Larry and Becky Payton. In the past two years he required 24 hour care and went to God in Heaven on July 1, 2011. He is survived by four daughters and son in laws: Paul and Carol Harrison, Nancy Taylor, Jim and Kathy Robbins Larry and Becky Payton, 12 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, 16 Great-Great Grandchildren. He was a Loving and Devoted man to his Family. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Ted Dickey West Funeral Home.

This organization provides assistance to seniors that are homebound and have no one to help them. They provide meals, medicine, medical equipment and most of all companionship.
