

He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 1,1946. Larry graduated from Capitol Hill High School and received his BS in Accounting from Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Larry received his MBA from The University of Dallas.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Training and Operations Sergeant. Larry was married to Carol Akin on March 30,1974, after the best blind date in history. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together. Larry had an illustrious business career spanning various leadership roles as CEO, COO, CFO, Co-Founder and President, Encompassing Finance, Information Technology, Reengineering, Acquisitions, Management and Operations.
Larry was a member of First United Methodist Church of Richardson. He had a passion for art, travel, music and was known for his dance moves. Larry found true joy in caring for his family and loved ones. He was a generous, kind-hearted man full of integrity with a keen sense of humor. His vivacious spirit and legacy will live on in the lives and hearts of those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Akin, daughter, Lindsay Hudson and husband John, Son, Chris Akin and Rhiannon Kelso, grandchildren, Wesley Hudson, Victoria Cory, Dylan Howard, Kelso Akin, Ivory Akin, and great-grandchild, Greyson Hudson.
Larry was preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Lois Akin, daughter, Ashley S. Black, brother, Kenneth Akin, and sister, Beverly Kellar.
A memorial service for Larry will be Thursday, January 16th, 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church - Richardson, TX.
