Lourdes “Lou” Padilla Eraso, 75, went home to the Lord on November 28, 2025, with her loved ones by her side. Born on October 25, 1950, in Capalangan, Apalit, Pampanga, Philippines, Lou was the youngest of six children of Epifanio and Antonina Padilla.
A proud graduate of Manila Central University, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1973. She devoted more than 35 years of service to the Dallas Transplant Institute / Dallas Nephrology & Associates. Her compassion, dedication, and gentle spirit touched countless patients, colleagues, and families throughout her career.
Lou married the love of her life, Ramoncito “Cito” Eraso, on June 27, 1977, in Germany, where their love story began—Cito serving in the U.S. Army and Lou working as a nurse. Together, they were blessed with three children: Angelo, their firstborn, who passed away at birth; Lawrence; and Marie. After marrying, Lou and Cito made their first home in Honolulu, where they joyfully welcomed Lawrence. In 1982, they moved to Dallas, later settling in Mesquite, Texas, where Marie was born and where Lou spent over 44 years raising her family and forming cherished, lifelong friendships. Together, Lou and Cito built a home rooted in Filipino tradition, hospitality, and deep Catholic faith, sharing a beautiful marriage filled with love, partnership, and devotion until Cito’s passing in February 2016.
For over 43 years, Lou was a faithful parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she found community, purpose, and friendship. She was a member of Families for Christ and lived her faith through service, prayer, and the unwavering love she extended to everyone around her.
Lou had many passions, but her heart shone brightest in the kitchen. As an extraordinary Kapampangan cook, she brought people together with the comfort of her food and the warmth of her table. She loved traveling, shopping, attending lunch outings with lifelong friends, and—above all—spending time with her family and beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence Eraso and his wife Holly, and Marie Antonette Manansala and her husband John Richard; her cherished grandchildren, Renzo Zion, Mona Rae, Maisie Lou, and Kailani Yen; and her extended family across the Philippines and the United States.
Lou will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, deep faith, joyful spirit, and the love she shared so generously with everyone around her. She had a gift for making people feel at home—welcoming, generous, always smiling, and always ready to help. To many of her children’s friends, she became a second mother, opening her heart and home with the same warmth she gave her own family. In her later years, she lived out the remainder of her life devoted to her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy and pride. Hardworking and endlessly giving, Lou’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and in the family she cherished so deeply.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramoncito Eraso; her infant son, Angelo Eraso; and her parents, Epifanio and Antonina Padilla.
