On August 24, 1942, Marcia Jane Pugh Beck, “Marcia or Nana” to her friends and family, began her journey through this life. Marcia cherished eight decades of memories, happiness, laughter, love, a precious husband, four children, eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one gift of a wonderful life. Marcia spent her life preparing for the day when she would see our Lord and Savior face-to-face. That day came for Marcia on May 1, 2024.
Marcia and her beloved husband Jimmy were married 37-years. They dedicated their lives to full-time Christian service, and Marcia mastered the role of a dedicated pastor’s wife, helpmate, and hostess extraordinaire. As a young woman, Marcia accepted Jesus into her heart and serving Him was always a top priority. As her children were born, she made sure her most important role was being a Christian mother and teaching her children about Jesus.
After retiring from Raytheon Corporation, Marcia spent the remainder of her days being the hands and feet of Jesus. Marcia was a dedicated member of Prestonwood Baptist Church for many years. She was passionate about volunteering in the church nursery, the Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, InTouch Ministry, and supporting Birthright Ministries. Marcia led a women’s Bible Study affectionately named “God’s Diamonds”.
In Heaven she is reunited with her precious Jimmy; her father, Noble Pugh; her mother, Sarah Pugh; her brothers, Gerry Pugh and Orval Pugh.
Marcia is survived by her sister Mary Pugh, daughter Laura Cathy Massey (Kyle); daughter Kris Beck Hathorne (Daniel); daughter Stacy Beck Walker and son James Keith Beck II. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Jordan Parks, Sarah Gardner, Elizabeth Hathorne, Kathryn Hathorne, Issak Beck, Camille Beck, Collette Beck, Lacey Beck, Tristan Boerio (Brandon), Ian Massey (Emily), and Kaitlan Massey; and great grandchildren Grayson, Easton and Cora.
We will miss her dearly – until we meet again. We find our peace in Jesus and knowing she is in Heaven.
A memorial of Marcia’s life will be held in the Chapel of Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd., Plano, Texas, on May 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held 30 minutes before the service in the Fireside Room.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Birthright Ministries Foundation, 7 Cliff Trail, Frisco, TX 75034 or Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, 690 W. Campbell Road, Suite 150, Richardson, TX 75080.
