Mark Carlton Singh Verma passed away on June 25, 2022 at his home in Dallas, Texas. Mark was born on April 24, 1960 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1983 and soon moved to Dallas, Texas, a city he loved and where he made his home.
Mark had a career in technology sales and will be remembered for his unceasing energy and enthusiasm in every endeavor, every encounter, every friendship. He also leaves behind many friends in the music scene in Dallas, where his love of music led him to become a band manager.
In 2008, Mark began volunteering for Paws in the City, joining the board and became president in 2014. This is where he found his calling in life. Mark would give any amount of time, go anywhere and do anything to change the fate of an abandoned dog. He was known to KEGL listeners for his guest appearances on the Russ Martin Show. For years, not a week went by that Mark was not on the road somewhere in DFW with a dog in his car, on the way to a radio appearance, a play date or an adoption event.
Mark is survived by his mother Kay Arceneaux, brother Mitch, sisters Mischa and Karan “K.K.”, sister-in-law Renee, and his beloved nieces Drisana, Aislinn, and Lilli, each of whom brought him great joy and pride. Mark also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Ford Verma.
Mark was “Full Rhino” always and will be greatly missed. After a small family service, Mark’s ashes will be interred in Lawton, Oklahoma. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Paws in the City Dallas/Fort Worth.
