Monte Lee Martin

Monte Lee Martin of Dallas, Texas, passed away on August 3, 2016 at the age of 79. He was born on November 12, 1936 in Stephenville, Texas to Lewis Lee and Johnnie May (Thompson) Martin. Monte will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Monte graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso and then entered the U.S. Army where he served his country proudly.

He began his career in the insurance industry with Prudential, then worked for IDS before starting his own brokerage firm. He called himself “The Deal Guy”.

Monte married the love of his life, Carol Martin, on September 30, 1995 in Dallas Texas.

He is survived by his wife Carol Martin; sons Curtis Martin and wife Erin, and Richard Martin and wife Kyoko; daughter Kim Cunningham; grandchildren Katelyn and Austin Cunningham; great-granddaughter Bryli; and brother Jerry Martin and wife Nadean.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Monte’s life will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, Texas 75252.
