Our sweet Natalie Reed Brown, 29, of The Colony, Texas passed away on Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 2020. Natalie had a radiance about her that immediately attracted others to her, especially those who needed a kind or encouraging word or just her beautiful smile. She was a giver, especially with amazing hugs which she offered often, freely and unconditionally.
Natalie was born February 20, 1990, in Dallas, Texas, to Jill (Black) and Doug Reed. She married Collin Wade Brown of Tyler, TX, on April 6, 2013 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. To her daughter, Peyton, four years old, and her son Mason, two years old, Natalie was a doting, loving mother. Along with Collin, Natalie layered her kiddos with loving affection. From her mother, Peyton is developing the gifts of kindness and empathy. And Mason has Natalie’s sparkle in his eyes that can only be heaven sent. Aside from Collin, Natalie’s true best friend in life was her older brother Douglass, with whom she shared a love of faith, family and deep and enduring friendships.
Natalie was blessed with a wide network of friends developed and intentionally cultivated from her years at Parish Episcopal School, Prestonwood Christian Academy, the University of Mississippi and Baylor University, from which she graduated in 2013. Growing up, her greatest joy outside of family and friends was soccer, having played first with the Wild Bunch, then competitively with the Comets, FC Dallas, Dallas Inter and the Longhorns. In high school she played on a state championship soccer team with Prestonwood Christian Academy.
Upon graduating from Baylor, Natalie worked for Metrocrest Services, The American Heart Association, Carpe Diem Preschool, and as a designer for Stitch Fix before assuming her true calling as a full-time mom.
In addition to her husband Collin, and her parents, Natalie is survived by her brother, Douglass Reed, and his wife, Whitney (West) Reed of Richardson, TX, and their two girls, Sophie Rae Reed and Sydney Anne Reed. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Herb and SuAnne Reed of Richardson,TX, maternal grandparents John and Beverly Black of Dallas, TX, her uncle Stephen Reed of Garland, TX, Collin’s parents, Alan and Jeanetta Brown of Tyler, TX, Collin’s maternal grandmother, Inez Snider of Tyler, TX, Collin’s brother Kevin Brown and his daughter Maddie of Dallas, TX, and Collin’s sister, Courtney (Brown) Womble, and brother-in-law Blake Womble of Frisco, TX, and their three children Preston, Cooper and Blaire. Natalie is also survived by numerous cousins, great aunts, great uncles and extended family from the Reed, Black and Brown families.
