Richard graduated with honors from Hononegah High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.
On June 25, 1972, Richard married Mary Virginia Baumgartner, with whom he shared a wonderful life. He worked in the field of Information Technology, building a successful career at Electronic Data Systems.
Richard was a dedicated member of Plano Bible Chapel and had a passion for physical fitness.
He is survived by his son, David Richard Baumgartner; grandchildren, Arabelah Marie Wolf Baumgartner and Evangelina Kaye Wolf Baumgartner; and siblings Joanne Boyer and Ronald Victor Baumgartner.
A visitation for Richard will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush, Dallas, TX 75252. A funeral services will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM, 7990 President George Bush, Dallas, TX 75252. A burial committal will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 1:15 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
