Roslyn Freedman Bender, 95, passed away Oct. 16, 2014. She was proud of and adored her family, and the feeling was mutual. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Roslyn celebrated her birthday in good spirits, surrounded by her family in July, and in mid-August left her hospice care for a few wonderful hours to enjoy a brunch for a great-granddaughter's bat mitzvah.
Roslyn was born July 9, 1919, in Fort Worth to J.P. and Celia Freedman. They moved to Beaumont during her childhood. There she met and married Irving Bender. Together, they ran Freedman Jewelry, and raised three children. After retiring, they moved to Dallas in 1971 to be with their children and grandchildren.
Roslyn loved keeping up with sports, and playing mahjong with her friends at Town Village North, where she lived since 2006.
She is survived her daughter Marlene Wall and her husband, Ronnie; daughter Helaine Kramsky and her husband, Jeff; grandchildren Kyle Wall, Wendy Williams, Lori and Jaime Aron, Tina and Don Schnair, Magen Kramsky, Jordan and Morgan Kramsky, and Charlie and Chelsea Kramsky; and great-grandchildren Kellen Wall, Chandler Wall, Raquel Baron, Sophie Baron, Zac Aron, Jake Aron, Josh Aron and Guinevere Kramsky.
Donations can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
A grave side service for Roslyn will be on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Hillcrest Mausoleum and Memorial Park in Dallas at 12:00 PM
