

Victoria (“Vicki”) Leigh Didriksen, age 81, passed away on December 19, 2021 in Plano, TX. She was born January 20,1940 in Brooklyn, NY to Mary Frances (Keaveny) McCabe (1919-1996) and Frederick Reynold Donovan (1916-1995). Victoria was raised in Wilmington and Bridgeville, DE and was a graduate of Fairfax Hall in Waynesboro, VA. She was a 1961 University of Delaware graduate with a degree in Education. Following graduation, she resided in Philadelphia, PA, Cherry Hill, NJ, and Dallas, TX. She married her children’s father, William Howard Thompson (1935-2004), at Christ Church in Dover, DE in 1960 and was the widow of Walter Sterling Didriksen (1937-2019) to whom she was married in Collin County, TX in 1989.
She was an educator, who loved the children she taught, and became a well-respected interior lighting specialist in Dallas, TX. She prided herself in excelling in both areas. In her spare time, Victoria enjoyed playing golf, engaging in the game of Bridge, taking care of neighbors and friends, and was an avid reader. Her family and friends will always remember her as sweet, kind, spunky, funny, and regal. She was the epitome of being a lady.
Victoria is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved stepfather (“Daddy”), John L. Coyle (1922-1983), and husband, Walter S. Didriksen. She is survived by her brother Frederick Reynold Donovan, Jr. of Marietta, GA; sister Debra Neubeck of Reistertown, MD; children Leigh Alison Hollander (Jeffrey) of Kennett Square, PA and Dana Lynne Thompson (Robert V. Boyer, III) of Plano, TX; grandchildren Taylor Leigh Hollander of Kennett Square, PA, Chelsea Watters Hollander of Conowingo, MD, Christian William Buckett of Murphy, TX, and her cherished cat, Jinx.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Canyon Creek Country Club, 25 W Lookout Dr, Richardson, TX 75080. The family welcomes all friends and family to join them in remembrance of this very special lady.
