Vivian La Rue Bowmer

1 mayo, 1925 – 18 abril, 2020
Obituario de Vivian La Rue Bowmer
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Ted Dickey West Funeral Home

Vivian La Rue Bowmer, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on April 18, 2020. She was born on May 1, 1925, in Waxahachie, Texas to Rives Llewellyn Watson and Myrtolene Melrose Yarbrough. She graduated from Waxahachie High School and attended North Texas State Teachers College (now known as the University of North Texas) where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Vivian was healthy with a sharp mind to the very end. She will always be remembered as the sweetest, kindest, most giving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Everyone who met her said she was the sweetest person they have ever met. She lived a full life and loved her family with all her being. She always said, “All I ever asked God for was a family!” Boy was her prayer answered. Her children and grandchildren were her everything and they loved her dearly in return!

Vivian was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Dallas, for 58 years until his passing in 2002.

She was totally involved with her children and grandchildren in their activities, from being a Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader, and never missed any swim meets, band activities, drill team activities, choir concerts, etc. She was wholeheartedly supportive of any activities in which her children and grandchildren chose to participate. She was also highly active in the PTA, Oak Cliff Woman’s Club, Junior League and so many other organizations that are too numerous to name.

In 1977, after raising her children, Vivian began working for Affiliated Computer Systems (ACS) as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Vice President, Tim Connor. After ACS, MTech was formed and Tim took Vivian with him to continue their success as a team over there, where she was promoted to MTech’s sole Administrative Officer. She retired from MTech in 1988 after it was sold. Tim said, “She was loved and very highly respected by everyone that she worked with.” The family will be forever grateful to Tim for how he treated their mother and for the very special friendship they had. He was a wonderful boss to her, but more importantly a wonderful, caring friend.

In 1992, Vivian came out of retirement to begin her second career with X-DOT, LLC, a telecommunications engineering firm founded by her son-in-law, James C. Wolfson (Jim) who is the President and her daughter, Vivian, is the Vice President. She worked as an Engineering Assistant for 28 years and played an integral role in the company’s success. She was still working part-time for X-DOT upon her passing. She was the bright spot of the office and all the employees loved her. X-DOT will never be the same without her. She will be sorely missed!

Vivian’s lifelong hobby was reading. Other hobbies included playing the piano, of which she took lessons and performed in recitals throughout her 80’s. She was also very involved in her church, Cornerstone Christian Church and its Bible Study group.

Vivian’s family would like all of her friends to know that each and every one of them were extremely important to her and she loved them all very much! The family will be forever grateful to them for giving their mother their gift of friendship!

Vivian is survived by her sister, Mildred Shugart of Houston, TX; daughters, Diane Payne and husband Joe of Winnsboro, TX; Vivian Wolfson and husband Jim of Dallas, TX; son, George Dallas Bowmer, III of Carrollton, TX; granddaughters, Debbie Molloy and Brad Beavers of Winnsboro, TX; Amy Thompson and husband Billy of North Little Rock, AR; grandson, George Dallas Bowmer, IV and wife Amanda of Celina, TX; step-grandsons, Scott Wolfson of Atlanta, GA; Brett Wolfson and wife Tracy of Houston, TX; great-grandsons, Kirk Molloy of Waco, TX; Kody Molloy and wife Melissa of Bullard, TX; great-granddaughters, Kirsti Teague and husband Cory of Whitehouse, TX; Mallory Thompson of North Little Rock, AR; Lainey Bowmer of Celina, TX; great-grandson, Brady Bowmer of Celina, TX; step-great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Wolfson of Houston, TX; step-great-grandson, Robert Wolfson of Houston, TX; great-great-granddaughter, Lakyn Molloy of Bullard, TX; great-great-grandson, Raylan Teague of Whitehouse, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
