Wanda Lafawn Hanes

Wanda LaFawn Hanes (Ellis, Shirley), born April 21, 1929, to parents George C. Ellis and Lou Ella (Butler) Ellis, entered God's heaven on Tuesday, November 9, 2022, at the age of 93 in her home peacefully. Wanda is preceded in death by her daughters Deborah Cooper, Marsha Shirley, and Rebecca Shirley. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Kuhn, and grandchildren Chet Kuhn, Mitchell Kuhn, Crystal Allcorn, Cash Cooper and many great grandchildren. She was known to all in her family as "Mom". Wanda was a beautiful person inside and out. She loved her family and found great joy in her great grandchildren, music, and art. She was a joy to be around and had many friends in many states. She grew up in Laredo, Texas, Ft. Worth, Tx and has family in Oregon. Her true love was fashion and jewelry.

Wanda loved to collect art during her life and loved to travel. She was a past member of Park Cities Baptist Church, Caprice Club and Park Cities Club in Dallas and was active in her community in years past. Wanda will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends; she was a very special lady. May she rest in peace.

The family will celebrate her life a private reception, as requested by Wanda.
