

Born on June 28, 1934 in Namiquipa Chihuahua, Mexico, Agustin was one of 12 children born to Agustin Rivera and Blasa Caraveo. Agustin was the beloved husband to Eliazar Rivera for 55 years and the father to Samuel, Yolanda and Augustine Jr. He is preceded in death by both parents and four siblings.
Before moving to California, he resided in Arrey, New Mexico for 18 years and in 1976 he and his family moved to Earlimart, Ca. Agustin lived the last three years of his life in Delano. After a courageous battle with Dementia and Parkinson's disease, he passed away peacefully.
Agustin worked as a Dairy Farmhand and Field Worker for many years. He volunteered his time at the Earlimart Senior Center helping distribute food and commodities to the community. He loved playing the harmonica, the accordion, riding his bicycle, listening to Christian music, drinking cafe, and eating pan mexicano. Everyone who met Agustin always walked away with a "dulcesito". He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity.
Agustin will forever be missed by his wife, Eliazar, his children, Samuel, daughter-in-law Carolyn, daughter Yolanda, Augustine Jr, daughter-in-law Sandra, nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, four brothers and three sisters along with countless family and friends.
Agustin was a strong man all the way to the end, he fought the battle. The Rivera Family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff who gave great care to him during his stay at the Delano Skilled Nursing Facility.
Psalm 91: 1-2 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.
