Alicia Montano Zuniga

1936 ~ 2013

Our dear mother went peacefully and faithfully on Wednesday, June 5th, 2013 at the age of 76. She was born in Sonoyta, Sonora Mexico. The youngest daughter of 7 siblings to her parents Cayetano and Bibiana Teso Montano. She briefly resided in Tuscon, Arizona, before becoming a long time native of Delano, CA.

She was married 49 years to her husband Henry Gallego Zuniga, whom preceded her in death by 12 years. Alicia and Henry had 7 children, a son Henry, and 6 daughters Jeanie, Sandra, Monika, Cookie Rachel, and Mia. She was blessed with 29 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Our mother was a woman of strong faith and a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses: We are comforted in her last words spoken and directed to her grandchildren as she instilled in our hearts: “Be good, read you bible, and remember what I taught you.”

Visitation will be held on June 20th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a 2 hour family tribute beginning at 6 p.m. Location: Delano Mortuary, Browning Road. Internment: Friday, June 21st @ 11 am @ Delano Cemetary, and a memorial reception beginning @ 1:30pm @ Paramount Bard Academy, 1942 Randolph, Delano, CA.
