We enjoyed dinner with Manang Wilma towards the end of her east coast trip July 2023. This included the US Naval Academy and Norfolk Virginia (home of the world’s largest Navy base).  I remember her for her equally huge heart. We miss you! Til we meet again.

Dear Calixto and Wilma's family and friends,   
                                       
           I, Carmina Ocampo, Justin Ma and Laboni Hoq, were Wilma and Calixto's attorneys in the Delano case where we represented them and many Filipino nurses who were discriminated and harassed for speaking Tagalog and other Filipino dialects at the hospital.  Our hearts go out to you during this difficult time.  Calixto, we are thinking about you and your family. We regret that we could not be with you today due to work and family obligations, but we are there with you all in spirit.        
                  
              Wilma was a brave leader in our case.  She was incredibly intelligent, courageous and was a fighter. We could not have won that historic settlement and victory for Filipino nurses without her bravery and leadership. We love Wilma very much will miss her. We are so thankful to her for her courage and her kindness. She always made us smile and laugh and she was a joy to know. She had such a big heart and was so funny, warm and kind. Wilma kept in touch with me all these years and was a kind friend. I will miss her always and will remember her spirit and zest for life. Thank you so much Wilma. May you rest in love and power.

To the family of Mare Wilma Garcia -Lamug, please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. Hearing about her unexpected passing has left me heartbroken for I remember our last bonding when she had her vacation in the Philippines. I never expected then that it would be the last that I see her and hug her. Mare Wilma was a phenomenal woman. I will always treasures the memories I have with her. I lean on them to remind me of the joy she brought into my bucket list of memories.
    To the 2 amazing sons of mare Wilma, your mother was such an inspiration in my life. I'll never forget the valuable lessons she taught me when i was a budding teacher. You are lucky to have a mom like her.
  Mare Wilma, May you rest in peace with the Lord Almighty in heaven. I will cherish the wonderful memories I have with you especially during my 20's and you're in your 30s. I will always love you mars ko. Its not goodbye mare, 
but til we meet again.
