

Mr. Raven was raised in Hineston, La. and lived all his adult life in DeQuincy. Clyde worked as a DeQuincy Police Officer in the mid 1960’s and as a security officer with LCIS in DeQuincy. He was the manager for Billups Service Station on West Fourth Street for a number of years before retiring. He was Pentecostal by faith and the last church he attended was Longville Pentecostal Church. Clyde loved fishing with the grandkids, and he loved to spend time with them. He was a jokester and he loved his family. He also loved cooking and was a good one, and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include his sons, Chris Raven of Longville, Benny Banken and wife Debra of DeQuincy, and Clyde Raven, Jr. and wife Vicki of DeQuincy; daughter, Margie Burgess and husband David of Longville; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendola Ferguson Raven; his parents, Chris and Ida Raven; brothers, William Raven and Fred Raven and sisters, Mable Ferguson and Grace Johnson.
His funeral service will be at 10:00am Friday, 29, 2016 in Hixson Snider Funeral Home with Rev. James Goleman and Rev. James Vandegriff officiating. Burial will be Hyatt Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 28th from 5:00pm until 9:00p and will resume on Friday at 8:00am until service time in the funeral home.
