Douglas was born Sept. 19, 1937 in New Orleans, LA to Glen Doty and Mamie Doty (husband, Sam) Cole. He was a retired boiler maker, talented artist, painter, woodcarver, furniture maker, potter and loved to garden. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Ron (Kathy) Doty of Sulphur and Tim Doty of Brenham, TX; 4 grandchildren, Connor, Camron, Bresie, and Kory; 1 sister, Sammy Jo Murphy of Crowley.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Sharon; 2 brothers, Alvin and Allen Cole; 1 sister, Aline Darden.
A Memorial Service will be 1:00pm Monday, April 7, in Hixson-Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy. The Rev. Alston will officiate. Visitation is from 10:00am-1:00pm Monday at the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
