Ellen "E.C." Stanley Talley, 85, a Starks native who lived in DeQuincy most of her life, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Ms. Talley was retired. She worked as a manager for Jerrell Sewing Factory when it was here in DeQuincy in the '70s and also worked in home health care. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Eddie and Callie Perkins Stanley; brothers Vernon, Pate and Ronnie Stanley; and her husband, Eugene Talley. She is survived by her daughters, Patti Coplin of Lorian, Ohio and Sharlyn Talley of DeQuincy; and her brother, Herman Stanley and wife Peggy of Reeves; three grandchildren, Scott Opel of Amherst, Ohio,Kevin Opel of Lorian, Ohio and Stephanie Coplin of Lorian, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel with Alvin Smith officiating. Visitation begins at 11:00a.m.
