

James was a hardworking, quiet man who worked for Boise Cascade for 25 years before beginning his own company, James Parker Logging. He loved to fish and loved his family more than anything. He was a kind, selfless and giving man who would help anyone in need, never expecting anything in return.
Survivors include his son, Randel Parker and wife Elizabeth of DeQuincy; daughters, Marcy Parker & Natosha Roberts of DeQuincy; grandchildren, Gabriel & Dawson Parker of DeQuincy; loving companion, Paula Pickering of DeQuincy; brothers, Charles Parker and wife Laurie of Sutter, Ca. and Hansel Parker and wife Nonie of DeQuincy; sisters, Charlcy Georgiades and husband George of DeRidder, Sherry Young and husband Jimmy of Singer, and Melony Templet of DeQuincy and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Parker; brother, David Parker, and his parents, Monroe & Lorraine Parker.
His funeral services will be at 1:00pm Friday, March 18, 2016 in First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Carlton Jackson, Jr. and Rev. T.D. Cardwell officiating. Burial will be in Oretta Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 17, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Hixson Snider Funeral Home and will resume on Friday from 10:00am until service time at the church.
