Robert "Bobby" Gene Ivey

He was born on August 27, 1940 to Evans and Vicy Ivey in DeQuincy, LA. He was the organist at First Baptist Church in DeQuincy for over 50 years where he was a faithful member, a deacon, along with teaching Sunday School, in which he was a director of that department. Bobby served on many different committees and positions. He was a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association; member of the Executive Board for the Chamber of Commerce representing the DeQuincy Railroad Museum Board.

Bobby is survived by his nephew, Chris Ivey and wife Brandee; sister-in-law, Doris Ivey; along with niece, Alex Reed all of DeQuincy; along with numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; along with his twin brother, Richard “Dicky” Ivey.

Services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at First Baptist Church in DeQuincy at 11:00am. Visitation will be held at Hixson Snider Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 5:00-9:00pm and will resume at the church on Monday from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of DeQuincy.
