Walter L Perkins “Lee” Sr., 77, died Friday May 6, 2016 in his home in DeRidder, La.

He was a resident of DeRidder, originally from Starks, La. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Pastored by Rev. Clyde Snider.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, four sons Walter L. Perkins Jr. and wife Betty of DeRidder, Elzie David Perkins of Sulphur, Thomas Randy Perkins of Westlake, and Terry Eugene Perkins and wife Beverly of Gillis, one daughter Debbie Jensen and husband Markel of Sulphur, three sisters Katie Jones of DeQuincy, Evalena Van Winkle and husband “Shorty” of DeQuincy, Mae Land of DeRidder, one sister-in-law Tene Perkins of DeQuincy, eleven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carly Perkins, his parents Elzie and Bulah Perkins, Foster mother/aunt Rosie Holley, brothers Luther Perkins, Everett Perkins, Marvin Holley, Joe Holley, Cecil Holley, LeRoy Holley, one sister Margaret Holley, and one daughter Anna Culpepper.

Visitation will be on Sunday May 8, 2016 at Hixson-Snider Funeral home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and will resume on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 9:00am until the time of the service. Funeral Services will be held on Monday May 9, 2016 at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy, La. at 11:00am. Rev. Clyde Snider and Rev. Carlie Jackson will officiate.
