Alison Jean Bono, 75, of Dewitt, Michigan, passed away on March 9, 2026. Alison was a beloved mother, nana, daughter, sister, wife, and friend, remembered for her generous heart, quiet strength, and deep devotion to the people she loved. She moved through life with a gentle steadiness—never seeking the spotlight, yet consistently illuminating the lives around her with care and grace.
Alison graduated from Lyons Township High School and went on to attend the University of Illinois, where she began building the foundation for the thoughtful, community-minded life she would lead. Warm, dependable, and kind, she had a way of putting others at ease—always ready with a listening ear or a well-timed laugh. Her kindness was never loud, but it was constant, and it shaped every relationship she held.
As a mother, Alison was steady, patient, and deeply devoted. She guided her children with gentle strength, encouraged their curiosity, and created a home filled with humor, comfort, and unconditional love. Becoming a nana was one of her greatest joys, and she poured into her grandchildren the same tenderness, playfulness, and steady love that defined her life. Through small traditions, shared laughter, and the quiet comfort of her presence, she created memories that will be cherished for generations.
Alison expressed love through cooking and baking, filling her home with the comforting aromas of family recipes, holiday favorites, and treats she delighted in sharing. Her kitchen was a gathering place—where stories were told, laughter was shared, and everyone felt welcome. She especially cherished hosting family for the holidays, creating celebrations rich with tradition, joy, and togetherness. Those gatherings, lovingly orchestrated and full of her signature touches, remain among her family’s most treasured memories.
She found joy in vacationing in Mexico, a place that brought her peace, sunshine, and renewal. Faith was also an important part of her life, and she deeply enjoyed her Bible study group, where she found fellowship, reflection, and spiritual community. The friendships she formed there brought her comfort, purpose, and joy.
Professionally, Alison was dedicated, hardworking, and service-minded. She spent many years with Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 388, now Local 333, where she was known for her reliability, strong work ethic, and the respect she earned from colleagues. She later continued her service-driven career with the American Red Cross, contributing to a mission centered on compassion, care, and community support—values that reflected who she was at her core. She also enjoyed her time as a Mary Kay consultant, where she found joy in connecting with women, sharing beauty tips, and brightening the days of those around her with warmth and enthusiasm.
