Passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the age of 87.He is survived by his wife Dorothy of 64 years; daughters, Debbie Schultz and Sandi McKibben; son-in-law, Joe Smith; grandchildren, Matthew Ashley, Michael (Renae) Ashley, Jr. and Chris (Marisol) Smith; great grandchildren, Allison, Alexia, Braden, Lauren and Luke. Alvin was preceded in death by two of his children, Gary Schultz and Susan Smith.
A funeral service will be held at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol, Lansing, MI on Friday, December 27, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to service. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI on Thursday, December 26 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol, Lansing, MI 48906, or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909 in honor of Mr. Schultz.
