

Benjamin Patrick Bashore, (‘Ben’ – often ‘Benji), born March 9, 1982, passed away as the result of an auto accident on June 20, 2016.
Ben had a large, unselfish heart that loved fiercely and deeply. He did for everyone else and rarely did for himself.
He leaves behind many family and friends to cherish his memory, including his father, Rick Bashore of Dewitt; his mother, Peggy (Leiby) Elsasser (Mike) of South Lyon and Higgins Lake; and sisters Mariah Bashore of Dewitt and Sara Schultz of Lansing.
He also leaves behind his much loved fiancé, Rachel Hart, and her children, Carter and Addilynn, who were the absolute joys of his life.
Ben is survived by a large and wonderful extended family who loved him dearly, including grandparents Robert (Bob) Leiby of Bath and Richard and Marilyn Bashore of Holt. He had several aunts and uncles, including Tim (Sherry) Bashore; Jeff Leiby; and Eric Leiby (Brenda Barton), Tamara Bashore; Renee Sumerix; Jerry Sumerix; Rhea Buell, and many dearly loved cousins as well – Kari (Paul) Swincicki and Jack and Elaine, Katie (Mike) Atwood and Logan and Ben, Jennifer (Tyler) Hunt and Gregory, Amber (Nick) Britten and Caleb, Brittany (Josh) Malloy and Alexis, Joseph (Anna) Bashore, Taylor (Jake) Sumerix, Lauren Sumerix, Leah Buell and Megan Berg.
Ben was preceded in death by his Gramma Ellen Leiby, his constant ‘prayer warrior’ who was his Guardian Angel. She passed away in December 2015.Ben’s life will be celebrated with visitation Monday, June 27th at Eagle Eye Golf Course (15500 Chandler Rd., Bath, MI 48808) from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and a memorial service immediately following.In lieu of flowers, and because of his love for children, donations may be made to Lakeside Chapel of Park Lake, (memo: Youth Activity Center), PO Box 245, Bath, MI 48808.Our memories of Ben are countless and include much laughter, fun and happiness.
Yes, honey, as you often said, you were ‘freaking awesome’. You will forever be missed, Benjamin, and forever in our hearts.
