

Brenda Mae Gavin was born May 9th, 1946, in Martin, Tennessee to her parents Elsie and William Chapman. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend was called home on February 27th, 2025. Brenda’s life was filled with adventure and joy, stemming from her family.
She is welcomed home by her granddaughter, Alisa Gavin; her husband of 41 years, Rick Gavin; sisters, Sherry and Lisa; and her parents, Elsie and William. She leaves behind her daughter, Kristina Gavin; son, Rickey (Shauna) Gavin; grandchildren, Justin (Justine) Gavin, Megan Woltjer, Jacob (Kristen) Woltjer, Ryker Alferink, Myah Ressler; and her 6 great-grandchildren, Harper, Ava, Mira, Oscar, Luka, and Mila.
Brenda had a passion for collecting antiques, wind chimes, angels, paranormal and true crime television, traveling with her husband Rick, but above all she loved spending time with her loved ones and seeing them grow. Brenda was a beacon of comfort, joy, love, and selflessness for those fortunate enough to spend time with her.
The funeral service will be held at 05:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 4th at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
