Born on March 1, 1945, in Lansing, Michigan, Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She lived a life marked by her dedication to her family, her faith, and her community.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Matthew (Kadee) Kidd, of Evart, MI; her granddaughter, Makalee; her brother, Ronald (Lynda) Auvenshine; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she cherished deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arther and Carrie (Wade) Auvenshine, and her siblings: Willard, James, Bill, Dudley, and Edith.
Proud member of Crossroads Church, Carolyn found great joy in serving others. She was also honored to serve as the Post Commander for the VFW Morley S. Oates Post 701, where she made lasting contributions to both her community and fellow veterans. Carolyn’s vibrant spirit, kindness, and unwavering dedication to service will be remembered by all who knew her.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Crossroads Church, 102 W César E. Chávez Ave., Lansing, MI 48906. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the VFW Morley S. Oates Post 701, 123 N Rosemary St., Lansing, MI 48917.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Carolyn’s memory to the VFW Post 701, where she had such a lasting impact. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, service, and community will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
