Charlene Ruth Hardwick

Charlene (Lake) Hardwick, 89, was born in Owosso, MI on Aug. 6, 1928 to Charles and Alice Lake. She died Nov. 6, 2017 at home in Lansing. Charlene moved to Lansing at an early age. She met the love of her life, Robert J. Hardwick and they were married for 68 years until Robert’s death in 2013. Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, needlework, and watching Detroit Tigers and Red Wings games. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Ilah Howe. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathleen (Ken) Melvin of Higgins Lake, Barbara Hardwick of Lansing; granddaughters, Jori (Chad) Keisel, Amy (Dennis) Moore, Kimberlee Jones; great grandchildren, Zach, Nicole, Caleb, Cade, Justin, Aliceia; great-great grandchildren, Javir, Victoria; brother-in-law, Keith (Rita) Weeks, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington St., DeWitt, MI. The family will receive friends Wednesday Nov. 8, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 pm and from 6:00-8:00 pm at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W.
