

Doretta Sue Coon, born on January 14, 1945, in Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, at the age of 79. Sue, a beacon of kindness and generosity, touched the lives of many with her welcoming nature and unwavering ability to make a friend out of every stranger.
Sue spent 30 rewarding years as an office manager for Dr. Peter L. Bucklin DDS, where her organizational skills and warm demeanor were greatly appreciated by colleagues and patients alike. She was a proud graduate of Eastern High School and was a member of Faith Church in Lansing, Michigan. Her community involvement extended to the American Legion in Bath, Michigan, where she enjoyed connecting with fellow members.
Known for her role as a loving and proud grandmother, Sue was always excited about the achievements and adventures of her family. She is survived by her children, Michael Hagerman, Lisa Hagerman, and Mark Hagerman (Heather); step-children, Steven Coon (Kristen) and Susan Piccarello (Joe); siblings, Pam Mulvihill-Silva, Julie Thom, and Gloria Pumfrey; along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue is also survived by her best friend, Marilyn Lane and her special friend Lanny Dittmer. Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Milton Coon, and siblings, Ardith Sheldon, Mary Ann Mulvihill, and Jacqueline "Jackie" Smith.
Sue will be remembered for her non-judgmental spirit and her innate ability to give more than she received. Her home was a haven where everyone was welcome, and she would ensure nobody left hungry.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sue can be made to Elara Caring Hospice or the American Cancer Society, organizations that were close to her heart. Sue's legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
